Meet The Team See The Carriages

Your driver at North Curry Carriages is Peter Hitchcott. Peter heads a team of four, two grooms and a carriage decorator. We have a variety of attire for your occasions. The day will be yours and we will dress to suit your needs. We have three grooms, Joy , Janine and Kathryn. All of the grooms are keen horse women and have the confidence of the horses which ensures a good working relationship. Kathryn also has a flair for decorating the horses and carriages. She will work to your needs and preferences when making preparations.

Peter, your driver, is a west-country man born and bred. He has an excellent knowledge of the central Somerset area where we are based.

Peter's local knowledge, together with his horsemanship, ensures a thoroughly enjoyable journey through the countryside to make your special day even more memorable.

Joy is a keen horse rider. After completing an HND in Horse Management and Business Studies and her BHSAI, she turned to natural horsemanship following Tteam and completed Parelli stages 1 and 2. She is now a qualified Reiki practitioner and is actively involved in distant healing for horses and humans.

Joy enjoys the rest and tranquillity of joining the crew in between bringing up her young family and 3 horses of her own.

Janine has been riding horses for many years and is a fine horsewoman and groom.

Kathryn's forte is decorating the horse and carriage to add all those important finishing touches .

Kathryn has worked with and owned horses all of her life. She took the BHSAI exams before going off to college and has been involved with showing, eventing and exercising point to pointers. She has always really enjoyed preparing horses for competition - She finds it very satisfying to get them looking as immaculate as possible!

Tommy is a 15.2 hands skewbald cob. He has a beautiful nature and will do any work to please.

Murphy is a 15.2 hands 'black' Shire Cob with white blaze and feathers. He is a ten year old horse with a wealth of experience at weddings and other driving tasks.

Rocky works with Murphy as a pair to pull any of the carriages.

Rosie is our Percheron.

Oscar, an impressive Dalmation is the final member of the team. He may be added to your wedding arrangements in his traditional capacity as a carriage dog - trotting merrily along beside you.
